1000 Cranes – Action shots

I haven’t updated my blog since my wedding – but I wanted to share what the cranes looked like in action all hung from the Picnic Shelter with care.  For those who are doing this: figure out how to transport these things so they won’t get tangled, because trust me: they will want to tangle, they WILL tangle, and it will take you FOREVER to untangle them.  It’s not fun.  Taping them to cardboard seemed to work OK for me, after we untangled them the first time.

Directional Signs

Owen did most of the work on this one; I just painted the letters.  Our reception is located about a 20 minute drive away so we need a few signs to show guests where to go.

Bouquets are DONE

Hooray I finished the bouquets!  I added a little bit of bling because I promised my Maid of Honor she can have some bling (I also used boring normal pins on theirs so I needed to cover them up, I bought the pearl-ended pins for mine).  My dress has a lot of sparkly stuff anyways, so I left mine simple.

Bubbles

Remember my Personalized Bubbles?  Now they have a home!  I used a fabric napkin, an old metal basket that was probably from another bath gift set, and tied it down so it won’t fly away.  Now I just have to figure out where to put them

Program Fans

Okay so this definitely deserves a longer post on how I did it and so I can do the cost breakdown, but I’ll stick with mostly photos for now.  My programs fan out, and thanks to my family and friends I was able to bang them out in a day!  I also “made” the basket holder by using an old wicker-type basket that came with a bath set and putting a fabric napkin (purchased from Target) over it and tying it down with ribbon so you can’t see the purple underneath.

Card Box

I had originally bought a box at Goodwill I was going to use, but when I realized it would be a lot more effort to rehab that box I bought a new one from Michael’s for around $2.99.  I’m worried it might not be large enough for the bigger cards, but it should at least hold the majority of them… hopefully.  I’m pretty much out of time for making a new one, so there’s no plan B and my cards may be scattered around the table if they don’t fit.

Posting again – and Kid Favors

Okay so I have been MIA from here, but I decided to come back and post short posts about what I’m up to and I can follow up with longer posts after the wedding.  Things have been so hectic, but I have gotten a lot done.  I’ll post a few mostly photo posts to give you an idea of what I’ve been up to, in no particular order.

Less than two weeks!!!

First up is the Kid Favors.  We thought it would be a cute idea to have bags of little toys to keep kids busy.  They have miscellaneous dollar-store toys for both boys and girls and don’t really have anything too exciting in them, but hopefully the kids will like them.  I made around 15, just in case some adults decide to grab them also, but I only expect around 10 kids or so.
